The long wait is finally over. Comex has just released the eagerly awaited JailbreakMe 3.0 for iPad 2 jailbreak. JailbreakMe is by far the easiest way to jailbreak iOS devices online, directly from the idevice browser itself without any need of a computer. This method is also fully untethered, meaning that you don’t have to plug your device into your computer in order to boot it into a jailbroken state.

JailbreakMe 3.0 is the final and official release that supports iPad 2 (3G, CDMA & WiFi models) and other iOS devices running iOS 4.3.3, such as iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. Support for iOS 4.3.1, 4.3.2 and 4.2.1 will be added later. iOS 5 betas are not supported. Like previous versions, JailbreakMe 3.0 allows easy jailbreaks by simply visiting the JailbreakMe.com website, thanks to a PDF exploit in Safari.

Few things that you should do or know before you proceed:

  • Please note that JailbreakMe does not hactivate your iPhone, so your iPhone should be activated before using the browser-based jailbreak tool.
  • JailbreakMe does not unlock your iPhone. So iPhone unlockers are advised to use tools like PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak their iPhone.

Step 1. Make sure to Update or restore your iPad to iOS 4.3.3.

Step 2.  Backup/Sync all your data using the backup option in iTunes. This step is crucial. In case something goes wrοng in the jailbreak process, you can always restore your iPhone back to the original state.

Step 3. Turn on the Wi-Fi or 3G network on your iPad 2, launch Safari browser from your device and visit the site: www.jailbreakme.com

Step 4. At JailbreakMe site, tap the Free button On left side and then click on green ‘Install’ button.

Step 5. That’s it. JailbreakMe 3.0 will do the rest of the process. It will download and install necessary files to jailbreak iPad 2 running ios 4.3.3. Safari should automatically close, that’s completely normal.
