Safe Mode is a special way for Windows to load when there is a system-critical problem that interferes with the normal operation of Windows. It is available under all versions of Windows and can be started by tapping on the F8 key during startup of the operating system. When you boot into Safe Mode the operating system only loads the bare minimum of software that is required for the operating system to work. As Windows Safe Mode loads a basic video drivers so your programs may look different than normal.
The purpose of Safe Mode is to allow you to troubleshoot Windows and try to determine what is causing it to not function correctly. Once you have corrected the problem, then you can reboot and Windows will load normally. It is also widely used for removing viruse and malware that is just keeping you from doing anything. Well, many types of malware disable booting into safe mode to prevent easy recovery. You can always get around this by reinstalling or restoring the entire system, but that may not be necessary thanks to the free program Safe Mode Fixer (or SMFixer) which will fix the corrupted Safe Mode and gives you back the full control over your computer
The tool is an executable file that requires no installation. Just launch this portable application and click on the Fix button, repairs are applied to your system followed by an immediate reboot. Since this tool is a security software that deals with the file system, the system registry and the running processes, it MUST be given all the rights it demands in order for it to do it’s job.
