Freeware alternative to ACDSee Photo manager

In the good old days, Acdsee was everything I wanted in a viewer and Organizers. It was fast and it had a decent, but simple, explorer capability as well.Whether you’re a digital photography beginner or a graphics professional, the picture viewer of choice for millions of people will make your digital camera software experience more rewarding.

However, the later Acdsee releases do a lot undesired things,it have became bloated (my opinion), and more -I can’t afford a copy for use at home (which costs US$69.99).So I start to find freeware to view the photos and providing same performances as ACDSee.The following is a list of 16 free  Image Viewers, Editors and Organizers alternative to  ACDSee Photo manager.  They may not be the best but it does what it says – organize your images, and totally  free of charge.(some of the images below have been reduced in size. Click on them to see the full version.)

XnView

XNView

XnView is a free multimedia viewer, browser and converter. This fast, free browser is easy to use, highly customizable, and supports a staggering 400 file formats. There’s no reason not to have it for those rare and unusual file types, plus all the useful functions it provides such as quick edits and batch processing.

XnView is a very good free alternative but it lacks some little touches that hold it back,For instance, every other image viewer responds to clicking dedicated back buttons on a mouse and the options in general for keyboard and mouse shortcuts are too few .And  it can be intimidating for first time users. For most users I would recommend Irfanview. That doesn’t alter the fact that this is very powerful software. If you’re a experienced user, go for it.

XnView works with Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP/Vista/Seven;  MacOS X/Linux/FreeBSD/OpenBSD/NetBSD/Irix/Solaris/HP-UX/AIX
