Windows 8, the next version of Windows operating system after Windows 7, has some major changes in terms of look and feel and one of them was Metrol style logon screen and custom lock screen which show date, time and day name at logon screen. Recently a Deviant Art user myjuman, created a freeware utility, called 8 Clock and Date for Windows 7, so as to experience the same feature in Windows 7 as well.
8 Clock and Date for Windows 7 will add the current time and date to the Windows 7 logon screen to resemble the one in Windows 8. It is worth pointing out that this utility does not change the background of your current Windows 7 logon screen, but merely adds the clock and date.
After finish downloading, extract the content files with the help of an archiving utility such as 7-Zip, then launch the setup file “Windows 7 ClockDate Installer.exe” and click Install. The apps works seamlessly for 32-bit operating system but for 64-bit OS you will have to replace the provided utilman.exe file with the one in the system folder manually. Make sure that you have made the backup of the original Ultiman.exe file, just in case things go wrong.
Creating a System Restore Point before trying out a new software or a tweak is always recommended.
