Google unveils Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’ [Price & Release date]

Google has finally unveiled long awaited Nexus S with latest Android version Android 2.3, dubbed Gingerbread. The new smartphone Nexus S which was developed alongside Samsung will deliver a “pure Google” experience: unlocked, unfiltered access to the best Google mobile services and the latest and greatest Android releases and updates.

Nexus S combines many of the hardware elements of the popular Galaxy S series of devices. It features:

  • OS: Gingerbread ( Android 2.3 )
  • Processor: 1GHz Cortex A8 (Hummingbird)
  • Memory: 16 GB internal memory and 512 MB RAM
  • Display: 4.0 inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen and Samsung’s new Contour Display curved glass screen
  • Camera: 5 MP with Flash LED and VGA for video calling
  • Micro SD: Up to 32 GB
  • Talk Time: 6 hours; Standby: 428 hours
  • Others: GPS with A-GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1

Price & Release date:  According to the Official Google Blog and Best Buy’s let out, the Nexus S will be available for purchase (unlocked or with a T-Mobile service plan) after December 16th “online and in-store from all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores,”  after December 20 at Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy retailers in the U.K. Customers in US can grab Nexus S at the price of $199 with a two year T-Mobile contract and $529 for unlocked one without a contract. In UK, at £35 on contract, and £549 for the unlocked version.
