iOS 5 Final Version Released – Free Download [Official Direct Links]

How to Update Your iDevice To iOS 5:
iOS 5 is now available for download and update directly through iTunes. To get the update now, you need to install the latest iTunes 10.5 first. Then connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to iTunes and click the “Check for Update” button. After you’ve finished downloading the ipsw firmware files for your respective iOS device, connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to iTunes, now select your device, and click the ‘Check for update’ button while holding the Option key (on Mac) or Shift key (in Windows) and browse to the iOS 5 firmware location, select IPSW file, and click Open to proceed. Remember to install iTunes 10.5 Final before upgrading your device to iOS 5.

I tried this – it worked as long as you have the latest iTunes and I press Shift in my keyboard and Restore button in iTunes at the same time. My Iphone got restored and updates on its own,
You will get the Error 3002 if you press Shift+Update.
hey… which is which to Download for iphone 4 v. 4.3.3? there are 2 links for iphone 4..
i tired the shift + restore and i got error 3194
Used shift+restore for Ipad2 (after checking that I have latest iTunes version) also got error 3192 – can’t get any further – also from South Africa – download took 6 hours! Any ideas?

Error 3200: This indicates a network-connectivity or traffic issue. If you see this error, wait an hour or more and try again.
I still have no success!

updating an iPod touch (2nd generation) or iPhone
3G, please use the standard update or restore process

I can not install the standard update get some error doing that also… Internet is very Slow in SA, takes about 7 hours to download this!

@William Thank you for that. Given it a go a few times and end up with the same error as @rached. Ive definately got the latest itunes too. Any further ideas would be appreciated. S
after downloading the software for the ipad, i run itunes,after extracting, he return an error code 3002.

@rached, please make sure that you have the latest update of iTunes which is now at version 10.5.
I’ve been looking for these links since IOS5 was released! Im so pleased you have them here. I’m downloading the software with the free download manager programme. Once its done im not quite sure what i am meant to do. I see you give an explanation at the end of your article but being frankly dim about such things I do not really understand it. I dont even know where the check for update button is! Could you help me at all? A more detailed explanation would be super. Thanks in advance!
@Sarah, Firstly, you need to download and install iTunes 10.5. Then, connect your iDevice to computer and launch iTunes. After iTunes opens, select your device when it appears in iTunes under Devices., and click the ‘Check for update’ button in the Summary pane while holding the Shift key (in Windows) and Option key (on Mac). After this, you’ll be prompted and you’ll want to select the file that you just downloaded.
when i plug in my ipod 4th gen it doesnt say that my device is connected? and it also doesnt show up in the folder “my computer”…what do i do?
