Panda Cloud Antivirus 2010 Review and Free Download
|Panda Cloud Antivirus 2010 is a free antivirus, and it is probably the first free antivirus from the cloud in the security software industry. Panda Cloud Antivirus 2010 connects to Collective Intelligence in real time. The advantage is that the antivirus program is alerted at almost the same speed as Panda Labs is alerted to emerging virus threats. Therefore, Cloud Antivirus provides the highest protection possible against new viruses on a minute by minute basis.

The interface is where Panda Cloud Antivirus really shines. The software is probably the most easiest to use antivirus yet.
The quick system scan is a breeze in that it only took about 10 minutes to finish.
Panda Cloud Antivirus also offers many other features. The reporting section is very informative and helpful. When hovering over an item, a tooltip will appear and explain to the user the threat and its location. In the settings area there is an option to participate in the Panda Virus Network. This means that all computers with Cloud Antivirus act as detectors sending the latest suspicious and virus files to the cloud. This means that Cloud Antivirus utilizes millions of users detection statistics to provide any one user the maximum virus protection.

Oh, I must add that Panda Cloud has recently started bugging me with a popup to upgrade every reboot. I don’t use my laptop enough to know if it happens more often. Lack of annoyance was one of my favorite things about Panda. 🙁 Sad.
I am not using panda cloud currently. But i aslo love it. A pity for that popup.
I used Panda Cloud for a while and loved it. It is still my go-to antivirus whenever I am fixing someone’s old, slow computer because it is very resource friendly and has great ratings for virus detection.
The only reason I am trying Avast now is because I started noticing that Panda was not keeping a consistent log. Events were not showing up and detections I remembered were missing. This freaked me out a little because it could be a symptom of a virus. So I installed Avast to scan and make sure my system was clean. It is, and I still have Panda on my old Laptop. It does the same thing. So I’m now sure I don’t have a virus.
Avast is the “other” resource-friendly virus protection. I like it lot, but I like Panda’s simplicity better, particularly for newbies.
I will also say that Panda’s tech support in their forum was fast, and very courteous.
